Melissa Harris-Perry describes herself as “cis” (via “MSNBC Talks To And About Trans People For An Hour, Doesn’t F*ck It Up” on autostraddle)
The fact that this is really so extraordinary is really, really sad.

lmfao honestly, it was the funniest shit since they were pretty much poetically calling me a conniving bitch and you know, i think i’d be pretty ok with brutally shoving people down stairs and off of cliffs so ok we’ll roll with the spider thing B)

Just because a pairing is canon doesn’t mean that the story will end with those characters staying together forever. I’m just pointing this out because so much of the slapfights in /co/ are people arguing that all other pairings are void because such-and-such pairing is canon. This usually comes up when it’s people bickering over Dave/Terezi and Karkat/Terezi, because both pairings are canon. I think people forget that it’s also canon that Eridan/Feferi was possible but didn’t work out— same with Aradia/Equius.
I think with the direction the story is going, actually, Karkat is going to lose Terezi to Dave. I feel like this specifically because of the scene where Kanaya asks him what he’s thinking about Terezi crying over a Dave dying and Karkat immediately thinks it’s all about him somehow and forgets that Terezi is a person too and that he should be more sympathetic.
Canon doesn’t mean forever, canon just means “what actually explicitly happens in the story.” It’s canon that Tavros was hit on by Gamzee but that didn’t work out either. Lots of things are canon. Stop using canon to justify that the pairing will last to the end. The story is more interesting IF a few pairings don’t last and a few new pairings show up— and those developments will all be canon.

“Well, to put it simply using an alien term you can’t possibly begin to comprehend—”

“She’s stabbed you?”
